A Year in Review | New Years 2017

Every year as you get older just gets faster and faster. I feel like it was literally just 2016’s New Year’s Eve and then I blinked and here we are a whole trip around the sun later. It’s crazy and I will never not be shocked by how fast a year goes by. Luke Bryan put the feelings into words that, “I believe that days go slow, and years go fast”. Some days feel like they’re never going to end, but then you turn back around, and they actually flew by.

I don’t know about any of you, but 2017 was torn between the best and worst year of my life. I went to Tennessee, attended 3 of the best concerts I’ve been to, fell in love, started this blog, went through a difficult breakup, found what I'm most passionate about and meant to do/be, went to Wisconsin (twice!), struggled more with my mental health since high school, started working on my dreams, and so much more all within 12 months - which is insane to me. I learned a lot and grew immensely from this year which I can not be more grateful for.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so rather than telling you about everything I thought it'd be better to just show you...

Seemed to be an uneventful January as these are the only two photos I have to show for it...

The one where I randonomly saw a possum out during the middle of the day.

The one where Peyton and I went to a mall an hour away to shop at Lush.

No matter what the “lows” were to my year, the “highs” and positive progress rise above. And for that, I’m proud of myself. But I know 2018 will not have to be split as the best/worst year because I’m more determined than ever to make it the best and most successful year so far.

I'm also incredibly blessed to have the entire family that I have because I have never felt so loved when I had my months where couldn't see anything positive. So, thank you to my whole family for letting me talk your ears off about the same things over and over again, for letting me be able to just cry without giving me advice all the time, for making me laugh a lot, for taking me on fun adventures, and helping me get through some difficult times. I love you guys more than anything.

"Faith, hope, and love are some good things He gave us and the greatest is love" My heart is full and inspired and ready to take on 2018.

What was your favorite part of 2017, and what's one of your goals for 2018? Also be sure to let me know some things you'd like to see on the blog in the new year. I'll be back to regular Friday posts on January 12th at 8 am! I hope everyone has a happy (and safe!) New Year!
