Hi, I’m Kellie!

About Kellie

My love for writing and creating things started when I was pretty young. I had notebooks filled with stories and drawings to accompany them. It was something I always found to be fun. When I wasn’t writing stories about puppies or Mickey Mouse, I spent my time either playing school or house. I always liked the idea of someday being a teacher and a mom. Some of those dreams have changed since I’ve gotten older, for example, I could never be a teacher, and some have stayed the same, like wanting to be a mom. But something that has stayed consistent my whole life is being an avid day-dreamer with a desire to be creative.

I’m a recent college graduate. I earned my BA in communication and a creative writing minor. I find it ironic that I’ve found myself as a communication major. I’m socially anxious and I hate public speaking. But as I’ve mentioned, I love writing and that is the only major at my school that really encompassed that for me. But all that aside I’d say that I did a pretty great at it for being a socially anxious introvert.

I grew up in Illinois for the first 22 years of my life. Now, I’m off to start a new adventure of my life near Nashville, TN. So, what’s to come in this new phase of my life is completely unknown. Which is terrifying yet exciting.

How this blog was born…

I started this blog in August of 2017. It was a part of my journey of finding myself and finding what I really want to do with my life. Excited is an understatement for how I feel when I think about where I am right now and where I’m headed in my life and my career.

My blog has become a mesh of different niches. I write about things that are happening in my life, about my lifestyle, about music that ignites passion in me, about The Bachelor, and about beauty and fashion occasionally. It can seem chaotic sometimes, but hey that’s life, right?

What I want to share with the world is that you should follow your own path. Not what other people think you should follow. Even if your path is unpaved and an unconventional place to walk through, walk it. I believe the ultimate goal of life is to just be happy. I’ve never been one to settle for ‘good enough’ with anything – friends, relationships, choices, etc. I want to live a life that I love and that I chose rather than settled for. And I want to encourage others to do that, too, and just embrace the chaos that is life.

Here are 5 other fun facts about me!

  1. I absolutely love The Bachelor franchise, I mean obviously.
  2. Daisies and Baby’s Breath are my favorite flowers
  3. Country music is my favorite genre.
  4. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and 13 Going on 30 are my favorite movies ever.
  5. I love wine.
