Nashville Murals + My Favorite Places to Eat

I’ve been to Nashville quite a few times in my life, most recently in July 2018 and this past March. Between those trips, I sought out the Instagram murals that have been painted by incredibly talented artists. As well as I now have a few favorite places I like to eat there. I have yet to find all the murals located in the city, but I have made my rounds to a handful. As well as I know exactly where the new Taylor Swift ME! butterfly mural is and I was only a few weeks shy of seeing it. That just means I have to get see it on my next trip, right?

In both my recent trips I have missed the beautiful Amelia’s Flower Truck and I am super bummed about it. It is the cutest little flower truck I have ever seen (only on the Internet) and I’m dying to see its beauty in person. I mean how can you not love a cute truck with flowers?

Here is a complete guide of the Music City murals I have been to and my favorite places to eat including their addresses:

12 South Ave.

#PeaceLoveGoodDeeds Nashville

Artist: EastsideMurals

Address: 2705 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

I Believe in Nashville – 12South Mural

Artist: Adrien Saporiti

Address: 2702 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

Draper James Stripes

Artist:

Address:  2608 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

Make Music Not War Mural

Artist: Relax Max Apparel

Address: 2902 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

Flowers Mural

Artist: Unknown

Address: 2900 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

Tip: Do not go in the early afternoon because the sun is shining directly on the mural and you will end up with something that looks like this which isn’t the greatest. This is one I really want to go back and redo!

#NowPlayingin12South

Artist: Gage Lozano

Address: 2403 12th Avenue South, Nashville, TN, 37204

I really want to try this restaurant the next time I go down because it looks like the coolest place. The interior is decorated like a retro 50s diner and I’m all about that. Plus, the menu looks incredible!

Five Daughters Bakery

Address: 1110 Caruthers Ave, Nashville, TN 37204

I passed this place in July, but I finally got to taste the delicious donut back in March and it was the best donut I’ve ever had. The layers were flakey, the frosting was rich, and the cream in the middle had excellent consistency and rich flavor. And now I want another one…

The Gulch

What Lifts You Mural

Artist: Kelsey Montague

Address: 302 11th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203

Tip: there is typically almost always a line for this one, but we were lucky to be there on a weekday and not many people were there. But if you go to Nashville during a busy time either be prepared to wait in a line or go early enough in the morning to avoid the lines. This is the same artist and area that Taylor Swift’s new ME! butterfly mural is located, too!

Downtown Nashville

Legends Corner

Address: 428 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203

Not only is this bar super fun, but it has the most iconic country stars painted on the side of their building that includes Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, and Wille Nelson. The walls on the inside are covered with country albums and it’s the coolest thing ever. Max and I didn’t order anything when we were here, we just stopped in to listen to a few songs of the live band so I can’t comment on their food or drinks.

It’s Gonna Be O.K. Mural

Artist: Sarah Tate

Address: 3020 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN 37209

Tip: This is my favorite mural, but it was the most challenging one to photograph. The mural is on the side of a building, along with a collection of others, but it faces out on a really busy street. Max was able to get the panorama shot from across the street before cars passed, but then we had to shoot on an angle because of the cars. I don’t know how busy this street is normally, but I assume when it’s not during rush-hour it wouldn’t be too bad to shoot at!

Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row

Address: 400 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203

Max and I went down in March during my spring break to visit my brother and his fiance. My brother took me and Max to Dierk’s bar and told us we had to try the chicken tenders. They were and still are the best chicken tenders that I have ever had. It’s a small portion but Max and I did share so it probably would have been enough for me on my own. It came with the best onion rings I’ve also ever had because the onions weren’t that weird slimy texture that you get from fast food places. We also got an alcoholic strawberry lemonade, and by we I mean Max got it for himself and I stole some of it. But it was the tastiest thing and probably a little dangerous because you could hardly taste the alcohol. It was my favorite place and I highly recommend it.

Blake Shelton’s Ole Red

Address: 300 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37201

Max and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat and we literally bit off more than we could chew. We got Redneck Nachos and Pimento Mac N Beer Cheese. The nachos were the largest portion that I have ever seen of anything in my life, but they were so amazing. They had kettle chips, smoked chicken, Rotel cheese sauce, pickled jalapeños, avocado, sour cream, red Bar-B-Que sauce, and green onions. The following photos are the nachos and the picture Max took of me when I saw the size of it. The mac and cheese was really great, too. Plus both of these places have live music, of course, which makes it that much more enjoyable.

The Loveless Cafe

Address: 8400 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221

This isn’t located in the downtown area and it is a bit of a drive, but it is so worth it. I went here with my parents in July but didn’t have the chance to take Max here but I can’t wait to. It’s a bit of a tourist place, but the food is so good that it doesn’t even matter. Because it is a tourist attraction there can be quite the wait so be prepared for that. However, while you wait there is plenty to do on the property. There are two shops that carry the cutest decor, apparel, and jam. The jam is my favorite part, particularly the peach one. It is the best and sweetest – but not too sweet – jam and everyone needs to try it. The Loveless Cafe is known for their fried chicken so that’s what I got and it was a large portion and I didn’t finish it all; it was the yummiest fried chicken that I’ve ever had. I do not have any photos of the food because I was too hungry and dug right in.

As I’ve mentioned these are only a few that I have been to and I can’t wait to find more. There are dozens of different styles of murals and artwork done so beautifully by talented artists all around the city. This is the same for the restaurants and bars I’ve been to. Honestly, I’m a picky eater, but I’m working on it and I also can’t wait to discover other hidden gems to eat there.

I will be making a part two to this in the future!

Have you been to Nashville? What are some of your favorite places to eat down there?
