Self-Care Weekend Challenge

I don’t know about any of you, but I had such a weird week mentally. It’s probably because January seems to be lasting forever, it’s cold, and I’m getting really sick of chipping away ice on my car almost every morning. But this week, I couldn’t get anything productive done. Everything felt hard to do even as simple as getting ready for bed. I ended up laying on my floor when I could have just gotten in bed. This blog post? It only got done because I bribed myself to finish it. So, all I have to show for this week are some class notes and a blog post. It’s been rough, to say the least.

Anyways, I not only lacked in getting what I planned to do this week done, but I also lacked in the self-care department. When I get into phases like this, it’s even hard for me to do things that I want to do or make healthy choices. Ultimately this week I broke my habit of sleeping with my phone across the room and stayed on it way too late some nights, I chose not to wash my makeup off some nights (I know, I know please don’t yell at me), fell off of some of my new year’s goals, and a multitude of other things.

Let’s Weekend…

However, this weekend I plan to do all the things that are good for me and to get myself back on track to finish out January strong and hit the ground running come February. And I invite you all to do the same, even if you didn’t have as weird of a week as I did.

I created a checklist that I plan to follow this weekend for this a self-care challenge weekend! Feel free to add or subtract whatever fits your self-care needs.

Above all, rest up this weekend. Remember that you can’t pour from an empty cup and it’s important to take care of you.

What’re some of your favorite self-care activities?
